"I have never seen anything anywhere so suitable in all respects for creation of a magnificent golf course."
~ Walter Travis, U.S. and British golf champion and golf course architect, after he inspected the property prior to the construction of Woodway's golf course in 1916
The heart of Woodway is our jewel of a golf course, set on 200 woodland acres. Natural beauty, sweeping vistas, and a par 71 from the white tees present golfers with 5800 to 6700 yards of golf the way it was meant to be played. Woodway's championship course, designed by Willie Park, Jr., challenges golfers to use every club in their bag. Renowned golf course architect and Willie Park historian, Mark Mungeam, restored the course to its original splendor in 2007. The beauty and challenge of this course keep it consistently ranked in the top five in Connecticut, and it has played host to several USGA, CSGA, MGA, and WMGA events.
Woodway has a long standing relationship with the Audubon Society, and our club is designated an Audubon Sanctuary.
